Established in 1974, the Tignish Health Centre began as a cooperative community development project by a group of community members. Their belief was that everyone deserved access to healthcare within their own community. Over the years, the centre has expanded to provide a diverse range of services, all dedicated to delivering quality healthcare with many professionals claiming this centre should be modeled by other practices. Recognizing a critical need, the centre has further extended its services to include the Yuill Learn & Grow Daycare. Named in tribute to an employee who passed away in 2022, Yuill (pronounced 'You'll') provides the community with dependable childcare services. The daycare center also boasts a vast collection of books in Rosie's Corner, dedicated to the memory of another beloved staff member Rosetta Doyle .

Alicia Grant - Registered Massage Therapy
Alicia began at The Tignish Health Centre in 2021. She chose to bring her business to the Tignish Health Centre because it offered reasonable rent and an opportunity to work in close proximity to a wide variety of health services. Her relevant experience includes a bachelor’s degree in Science of Kinesiology. She spent five years as a certified personal trainer through the Canadian Society of Exercise and Physiology. During that time, she was employed to work by the Canadian Armed Forces as a civilian fitness instructor. She has experience helping with the Military Sports Athletic Therapy Program. After having two children, she returned to school to become a massage therapist. Graduating with honors, she moved back to PEI to start her practice. Her passion has always been to understand the human body and help people with their mobility and health. She is very passionate about offering a wide array of women’s health services, working with veterans, and athletes. She offers and pre and post natal massages, therapeutic massages, hot stone therapy, cupping, paraffin treatment for hands and feet, craniosacral treatment, myofascial treatment, and taping. Dental Public Health

Life Cycle Nutrition
My name is Emily Bernard and I am a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN). I run a nutrition consulting service called Life Cycle Nutrition, out of the Tignish Health Center. I meet with clients one one-on-one to help them meet their health/nutrition goals. Sessions that I provide can be focused on weight issues, proper nutrition intake for all ages (small children to elderly), or a specific health condition such as; high blood pressure, diabetes, or high cholesterol (to name a few). Appointments with Life Cycle Nutrition are covered by a variety of health insurance companies.

Public Health
Public health plays a crucial role, from making vaccinations accessible to preventing disease outbreaks. It advocates for healthy lifestyles and assists parents with newborns. Public health nurses provide care for Islanders at all life stages, from infancy to old age.
Yuill Learn & Grow Daycare
The Tignish Health Centre is proud to announce that the daycare is now designated and parents will now be expected to pay only $10 a day for care. Hospice PEI
The West Prince Coordinator has been in at the Tignish Health Centre since January 2023
Our organization is a community of caring individuals making each day count for Islanders and their families through our volunteer led hospice support, comfort, and care programs. We also support Island families after a loved one’s death through our grief support services.
Anyone living with a life-limiting or palliative diagnosis can request Hospice PEI support services.
Trained Hospice PEI volunteers can offer emotional and practical support through conversation, companionship, assistance with small errands, and other activities free of charge.
